On May 20-21, 1927 Charles Lindbergh made the historic first solo nonstop crossing on the Atlantic Ocean in the single-engine Ryan NYP monoplane named the "Spirit of St. Louis” (N-X-211). Flying a total distance of 3,610 miles from Rosevelt Field, New York to Le Bourget Aerodrome in Paris, France, the fight took 33 hours – 30 minutes.
