Pan American Airways System Boeing B-314A “Pacific Clipper” (NC-18609) flying boat. The early fleet of "Clipper" flying boats initiated the long outstanding history of Pan American World Airways. Passenger service began on June 28, 1939. The B-314A could carry 74 passengers with a crew of ten. The B-314A could also be reconfigured into an overnight sleeper arrangement.
